Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can be used in a variety of ways in various parts of the face.

They can be administered into the skin to help restore our skin to its former youthful appearance. This is done by injecting into areas where the skin has lost volume in order to replace lost volume and to make it look firmer.

They can also be used to enhance the natural contouring and define certain features of the face. Dermal fillers contain high volumes of hyaluronic acid, which provides moisture and boosts the hydration of the skin.

What are dermal fillers, and why are they used?

As we age, our skin changes, and we lose hydration as well as facial fat. The elasticity of our natural skin starts to reduce due to the decreased amounts of collagen, and our skin becomes more fragile. Over time, the natural volume in the face starts to reduce, and in combination with more fragile skin, wrinkles and folds start to form.

The more mobile facial areas are the first to be affected by this natural ageing process. Skin will eventually begin to sag, and “expressive” wrinkles will start to appear, which are more difficult to smooth out. Dermal fillers are a safe and effective procedure to help smooth out problem areas and tackle signs of skin ageing.

Where can they be used?

Cheeks

By placing filler in the cheeks, we create a small amount of lift, which in turn can improve the marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and tear troughs, as well as creating a beautiful contour to the cheeks.

​Non-surgical Rhinoplasty

Non-surgical rhinoplasties are ideal for creating beautiful noses. Filler is placed directly into 4 low-risk areas without surgical intervention. It can be used to correct hooked noses, straighten humps, define the nasal bridge and improve asymmetry.

Placement of filler in the jawline region creates chiselled jawlines and may reduce the appearance of jowls.

How long does it last?

Dermal fillers are not permanent. How long they last depends on the type of filler, the location of placement, and each patient. On average, fillers can last anywhere between 6 and 18 months.
